Red Velvet Cake Pops-Use your Cupcake or Heart Mold from Januarys Box


Red Velvet Cake Pops

 Paper Straws

1 box red velvet cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)

1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz.)

1 package candy melts(use your color of choice)

Styrofoam block

 After cake is cooked and cooled completely, crumble into large bowl. Mix thoroughly with 1 can cream cheese frosting. (It may be easier to use fingers to mix together, but be warned it will get messy.) Roll mixture into 1” balls and lay on cookie sheet. Chill for 15 minutes.

Once chilled use your cupcake pop mold or heart mold and place the ball of dough into the mold. Squeeze the mold and wipe any excess dough from the sides. Open and remove molded cupcake or molded heart. Let molded dough chill for another 15-30minutes. (You can put molded dough in the freezer to speed up the process.) Melt your candy melts according to the directions on the package.  Dip your straw into the candy melts and insert the straw in the bottom of your molded dough.  Use the Styrofoam to keep your cupcake/heart pops upright while the candy is hardening.
